Frequently asked questions
Does it work for venues without their own catering?
Yes. Many venues and estates work with external caterers and their business is hiring out the space, the kitchen fee and the associated services. SKANDA handles that model: date calendar, contracts with the couple or company, fees and commissions per event, guest portal and invoicing. And if you also offer catering in house, you get recipe costing, menus and cost per head in the same tool.
How does the client portal work?
You generate a private, secure link for each couple from their event. Through that portal they upload and update their guest list with tables, allergens and dietary requirements, without having to create an account. The information reaches your dashboard structured and feeds straight into the seating plan and the operations for the day: no more attached spreadsheets or lists over WhatsApp.
How does it handle contracts?
You create reusable contract templates with your terms and, for each event, generate the contract with automatic sequential numbering (C-2026-001, C-2026-002…), commercial terms and minimum and confirmed guest counts. The contract follows its lifecycle (draft, sent, signed, active) with electronic signature, so the date is locked in writing far sooner.
How are wedding planner and agency commissions calculated?
You register each intermediary (wedding planner, agency, events company) with their commission type: an amount per guest or a percentage of the event. When you assign them to a celebration, SKANDA calculates the commission automatically from the event's real figures. The same applies to the venue's kitchen fee. At the end of the season your settlements are clear, event by event.
